Not everyone wants to pay for solar in one go. Finance lets you spread the cost over monthly payments, and with a 0% APR option, you pay back only what you borrow.
How it works
- You get your free quote and choose your system
- You apply for finance, which includes a credit check
- If you're approved, the lender pays for the installation
- You repay the lender in monthly payments over the agreed term
What 0% APR means
With a 0% APR agreement, you don't pay any interest. If your system costs £9,000 and you pay it back over 5 years at 0%, you repay £9,000 in total. Choosing a longer term, up to 25 years, simply lowers your monthly payment. It's still 0%, so the total you repay stays the same.
Your options
- 0% interest-free finance: you repay exactly what the system costs, in fixed monthly payments
- Terms from 5 to 25 years, every one at 0% APR
- Your quote will set out the options available for your system
Finance is subject to status and affordability. The lender will give you the full terms, including the APR and a representative example, before you sign.
Questions to ask
- What will the monthly payment be?
- What's the total amount I'll repay?
- Is there a deposit?
- Can I pay it off early, and are there any fees?
Your rights
Under consumer credit rules, you usually have 14 days after signing a credit agreement to withdraw from it. If you're unsure about anything, ask the lender before you sign.
