Who we are

Solar Haven Energy is a trading name of MBSA Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16371503) with its registered office at 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX ("we", "us"). We help homeowners get quotes for solar panels and battery storage, which are surveyed and installed by MCS certified installers. We are the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website, by phone, by WhatsApp or by email.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote or contact us, we may collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your home address and postcode
• Details about your home and what you are interested in, such as the type of system, your roof, your electricity use and bills
• Whether you are interested in paying upfront or with finance
• Anything else you choose to tell us in a message, call or WhatsApp chat

We also receive basic technical information that every website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, from our website host.

How we use it

• To contact you about your enquiry and arrange your free survey and quote
• To pass your details to the MCS certified installer who will survey and quote for your system
• If you ask about finance, to put you in touch with a finance provider
• To answer your questions and keep a record of what we have discussed
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations

Our legal basis

We use your information because you have asked us to help you get a quote (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract), and with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on our quote form. We may also rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving our business, where this does not override your rights.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. This does not affect anything we have already done with your information.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We only share it with:

• Our MCS certified installation partner, so they can survey your home and give you a quote
• Finance providers, only if you ask about finance
• Service providers who help us run this website and handle enquiries, such as our website host and the service that delivers quote form messages to our inbox. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
• Authorities such as HMRC or the police, if the law requires it

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. When they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

If you do not go ahead with an installation, we keep your enquiry for up to 12 months and then delete it. If you do go ahead, we keep your details for 6 years after the installation, which is how long we need records for tax and legal reasons.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• Ask us to delete your information
• Ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
• Ask us to move it to another organisation
• Withdraw your consent at any time

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Keeping your information safe

Your information is sent to us over a secure (HTTPS) connection. Only people who need it to handle your enquiry can see it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
